Happy Canada Day! I hope my icons are recognizable: inuksuit, loons, and maple leaves. The border reminds me of a ribbed toque brim.

Now includes the option of putting “2020” across the bottom of your blanket!

This blanket is available for both the interlocking and single-row mosaic crochet techniques. And both options include left-handed instructions as well (no need to read the pattern backwards to get legible words)!

Both types of crochet work with one color at a time in alternating rows to create the design. interlocking crochet uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh and the “wrong” side is sometimes as pretty as the front.

Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links.

After purchasing this listing you will have access to 6 files:

  • a chart spread across multiple pages (this chart can be used for both techniques)
  • the same chart in mirror-image for left-handed crocheters
  • written instructions for doing this pattern in interlocking crochet (what I call Locked Filet Mesh = LFM)
  • written instructions for LFM for left-handed crocheters
  • written instructions using the single-row / cut-and-tie mosaic technique
  • written instructions for left-handed mosaic
