This is an angular and abstract shawl pattern, inspired by the Jackson Pollock painting ‘Blue Poles’ (also known as Number 11). The shawl is made using two irregular quadrilaterals, joined along one edge. When worn it creates distinctive and very wearable angles.

The pattern can be made using two contrasting yarns, each 100g/400m of a sock or fingering weight and works particularly well if a variegated yarn is paired with a solid or semi solid colour.

This pattern uses US terminology. Should you need any assistance with the pattern at all, or if you would prefer a version in UK terminology, please do not hesitate to message me and I would be very happy to help.
