Inspired by traditional American star quilt patterns, this homage to Ohio knits up quickly in fingering weight yarn. The edging includes a Latvian braid which serves as an accent and also keeps the edge from curling. The charted colorwork pattern has 2 colors per row and all but a few rows have floats of 5 stitches or less.

The pattern is charted in black and white for easy customization to your preferred colors. You can also incorporate stripes by changing colorways every 13 rows. Choose a dramatic, high-contrast pairing or make a quiet version with more tonal yarns. Highly customizable.

Two samples are pictured. The pink and navy sample is knit in Mitchell Wool Targhee and Silk. 175 yards main color (Madder) and 130 yards contrast (Wild Blueberry). Sample knit on #4 needle and measures 26” circumference and 9” depth.

The green sample is knit in Kelbourne Woolens Cricket. 160 yards main color (Ocean) and 110 yards contrast color (Fog). Sample also used 10 yards of brushed Suri alpaca in pink for an accent at the bottom. Sample knit on Size #3 needle and measures 24” circumference and 9” depth.
