The Once Upon a Crown pattern combines a bit of whimsy and sass with texture knitting using corrugated ribbing to create a denser fabric.

The pattern is adaptable for sizing variation and uses super bulky yarn with US 11 / 8mm needles. There are four pattern variations written out in detail and tips for further variations to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Each section is worked in two colors, two of the pattern options have two sections (2 - 4 total colors can be used), and the other two pattern options have three sections (4 - 6 colors).

Total yardage is around 50 yards. If using just two colors, the main color used will need about 30 yards and the secondary about 20 yards. Using more than two colors, the yardage needs for each color decrease. This is a great yarn scrap project, and a fun way to explore color combinations.
