DESCRIPTION
The ONIL Top is a simple summer top knitted in 2 strands of Lino Muka. The 100% linen yarn from Lithuania creates a beautiful drapey fabric and is cooling and comfortable to wear during summer. It comes in a huge range of beautiful colors. You could knit a single-color version, or combine two shades: the possibilities for creating an unique effect are endless.
You will work bottom-up, in the round, mainly in stockinette stitch (along with a garter-stitch center front panel), but there are plenty of different techniques to maintain interest. You shape the high-low hem through German short rows, work decreases along the side for a gentle A-line silhouette and create the V-shaped panels out of the garter panel. After separating front and back and shaping armholes, you bind off neck sts with a special technique to avoid gaps. You join the shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off, after some short rows for the shoulder shaping.

SIZES
1 / 2 / 3 / 4
Finished chest measurements: 78 / 87,75 / 97,5 / 107,25 cm (30,75 / 34,5 / 38,5 / 42,25 inches) (after blocking)

EASE
It’s recommended to wear the top with 0-5 cm (0-2 inches) of no/positive ease at bust

SKILLS
knit, purl, long-tail cast-on, pick up stitches, German short rows (see Techniques section), knitting in the round, knitting flat, decreases, increases and 3-needle bind-off (see Techniques)

NEEDLES
Circular needles to obtain gauge (recommended 4,0 mm (US 6)) with a length at least of 60 cm (24”)

GAUGE
20,5 sts x 24 rows = 10x10cm (4”x4”) in stockinette stitch with 2 strands of yarn, blocked
-The gauge of the garter-stitch Center Front Panel is slightly different, but as it’s only over the width of 10 stitches, the stockinette either side will keep it similar enough to the main gauge

YARN
Wollenberlin, Lino Muka, lace-weight, (this will be held double); 100% linen; 245 m (268yds) per 50g, colourway Light Rose and Vintage Green

METRES NEEDED
800 / 900 / 1000 / 1150 m (870 / 980 / 1090 / 1255 yds)
For this pattern you will be holding the yarn double. (The amounts stated refer to the total yarn needed for holding double.)
-You can use any yarn that matches the requested gauge.
-If you use a sport-weight or DK-weight yarn, you can hold it single: so you will use half the amount of yarn.
