This listing is for a PDF (instant-download) of the Only Children Scarf and Infinity Scarf Crochet Pattern, named after the song by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.

This pattern was designed to give you something easy and gorgeous to make with one hank of lace or sock weight yarn, but the best thing is: ANY WEIGHT yarn can be used to make the items in this pattern so it’s perfect for stash busting!

This one is definitely for those who prefer mindless crochet! Most of the scarf/infinity is made by repeating two easy rows.

The pattern contains clear, detailed instructions and pictures, as well as an additional section at the end with step by step instructions and photos for ALL stitches used (chain, single crochet, half double crochet) ! There are even photos on how to make a slip knot (needed to start any crochet project). If I had to place a level on this pattern, it would be advanced beginner.

Specific details are given in the pattern on how to make a scarf or infinity scarf with ONE HANK of any lace or sock/fingering weight yarn in the shop, but makes it easy to customize if different yarn or yarn weight is chosen.

Examples of how easy it is to customize length and width depending on yarn you are using and size you want:

Length - Scarf and infinity are worked lengthwise. To start, any number can be chained (so although pattern gives specific numbers to chain for sock and lace weight yarns, you can ch any number you want to achieve desired length)

Width - Although pattern gives specific numbers of repeat rows to work for sock and lace weight yarns, you can repeat the rows as many times as you would like in order to reach desired width.

This is one you can wear 3/4 seasons of the year. It is light and less wide so you can throw it around your neck in a flash and not have to worry about fussing with it.
