Pattern — this is a complete description of the finished item with step‑by‑step instructions: measurements, calculations, shaping of the pieces, knitting sequence, and assembly of the final garment. For example: a sweater, cardigan, top, hat, etc.
Stitch pattern — this is only the fabric design, meaning the chart and the method of knitting a specific motif. It does not include garment instructions or sizing.
In simple terms:
Pattern = how to knit the item
Stitch pattern = what motif to knit it with
Workshop Components:
A written description accompanied by a pattern chart.
One instructional videos explaining the entire pattern:
One demonstrating the technique using turning rows.
One explaining how to knit in the round.
Structure of the Pattern Element:
Stitches: 8 stitches.
Rows: 8 rows.
Cast-On Requirements:
The total number of cast-on stitches must be a multiple of 8.
Specifications for Turning Rows Knitting:
When working flat (back and forth), add 2 extra stitches for symmetry.
