This pattern is available from kulabradesign.com for $7.00.

This shawl is similar to Nautilus Pompilius, but there are some differences in the stripe sequence, and in the way the tiers are joined.
There are no seams, as everything is knit-on, tier after tier.

Materials.

  • 4.0 or 4.5mm circular needles.
  • fingering- or sport-weight yarn: 1000 – 1200m total. I used bright-colored leftovers in the prototype; can’t tell how much of each color. The more colors you use, the more interesting this shawl will look. If you’re going to purchase the materials for this project, look into yarn that is available in small skeins (20-25 grams). You will need 10-14 of those.

Size: drops 60 cm, about 150cm across + spiraling part.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rows in 10cm garter st.
