My first pattern designs for purchase! So exciting.

Knitting is not only for colder seasons, it is also for warm weather and sunny skies. This pattern takes you away to warmth, sunshine, summer breeze, and blue skies.

My inspiration for Orlaya came together after seeing a similar knit on Oprah. I saw her online talk at Stanford University and immediately spotted her outfit. Very comfortable and elegant like herself. Orlaya is comfortable and, most of all, it looks good on everyone. It fits well on differently sized women. I am size 14 US (44 EU) and you can surely see how this dress is hugging me. So will it hug you.

Alternating YARN OVER and DROPPED stitch patterns, this dress comes together as one you can’t stop wearing. The pattern is knitted straight, so no tapering around waist. Orlaya is an easy fit, easy to move with as well as easy to pack with. It is also enjoyable to knit without becoming too boring or difficult to do. Orlaya is usable on many occasions and situations, casual or more formal. This dress makes you feel confident and elegant. When needed, dress it up with accessories.

YARN & YARDAGE
Approximately 1100 yards / 1000 m of fingering weight yarn. Shown with The Cotton Garden’s Erica (100% Cotton) in colourway Shiny Off White.

NEEDLES & HOOK
Size US 4 / 3,5 mm circular needles (2) and one crochet hook same size. Adjust needle and hook size if necessary to obtain pattern gauge.
Orlaya is worked circular and flat by circular needles with 32 inch / 80 cm length.

KNITTING
Dress is worked from bottom up straight. No tapering around waist.

FINISHED SIZE after blocking

S: 33,5” x 16” (41 cm x 85 cm)
M: 36” x 19,5” (49 cm x 90 cm)
L: 37,5” x 20,5” (52 cm x 96 cm)
XL: 39,5” x 22” (55 cm x 100 cm)
Remember that blocking is essential to a successful result.
