Oule is a cozy stranded colourwork beanie adorned with a repeating owl motif that circles the hat over corrugated ribbing. Worked seamlessly in the round, this design uses two contrasting colours of 4-ply fingering-weight sock yarn to let the owls truly take flight.
The pattern includes both written instructions and a colourwork chart. Instructions are provided for one size.
Oule is the Middle English word for owl.

Background colour: Morris & Sons Empire 100% Superfine Merino 4 Ply, colour: 400 Soft White. Sample shown used approximately 125 m.
Contrast colour: Chardyglen Designs Merino SuperSoft sock yarn 4 Ply 75% Merino 25% Nylon, colour: Jasper Moon. Sample shown used approximately 65 m.
