Comforting and textured, the Overnight Oats Cowl features tight but delicate cables that provide warmth to the wearer. Designed to be close to the neck to fit under heavy winter coats or act almost as a collar with sweaters, this pattern can easily be made wider or taller to get the fit you want.

The pattern as written makes cables that pull inward and upward, but it can be worn upside down as well. The cabled ends create an almost scalloped effect that frame the shoulders and chin of the wearer. The super stretchy BO further accentuates that, making a slightly fluted end that can be down on the collarbones to better fit the body or up around the chin to give more of a collar effect.

Size: Overnight Oats comes in one size suitable to be loose on a child up to more fitted on an adult.

Gauge: This is not super important for this garment because it is not fitted specifically to the body.

Yarn: Worsted weight was used for the testers, and that is how the pattern is written. WOTA tends to be on the smaller end of worsted weight in my experience, so if you need to use size 7 or 8 needles to best fit your yarn choice, please do!

Errata was identified in May 2022, and a new chart and pattern were published on the website page.
The chart previously noted that the cbl back abbreviation meant you should bring your cabling needle forward. This is erroneous - you should bring your cabling needle to the back. This is updated on the project page, so please feel free to download the new version of the pattern.
