If you love an oversized cosy knit, then here it is! This quick knit pattern works equally well as a plain coloured simple knit or feel free to get creative by adding different colours, using your chosen chunky yarn.
The Oversized Slouchy Shrug is easy to knit- there is no shaping at all!
It is worked in one piece using basic stockinette stitch. A circular needle will accommodate the large number of stitches.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner (super easy).
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• 10, (10, 12, 14) x 50 g balls 1440, (1400, 1680, 1960) m or 1531, (1531 1838, 2144) yds using Drops Alpaca Boucle yarn: 0602(Brown mix shade). NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 15.00 mm x 80 cm (US 19).
• 1 Marker.
• Tapestry needle.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10 cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, take a smaller needle size.
ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING:
Sizes: S - M, (M - L, L - XL, XL - XXL).
Length (from mid of the neckline down to the hem) - 76, (76, 80, 84) cm / 30, (30, 31 1⁄2, 33) ins
Width (from armhole to armhole) - 125, (130, 135, 140) cm / 49, (51, 53, 55) ins.
GAUGE (Tension): 5.5 sts and 8.5 rows = 10 cm (4 ins), measured over stockinette st.
