I wanted to make something super fun for someone special on her special day. I know she likes owls and cowls are some of my favorite things to make. I already had this yarn in my stash with the intention of making something for her.

The cowl:

Cast on 154 stitches. Place marker and join for working in the round.
Switching between knit and purl each row, work 10 rows of garter stitch.
Then, knitting every row, work 7 rows of stockinette.

Now comes the cables.

    • k3, p8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, cable 4 back, cable 4 front repeat from * to marker.
  • next 7 rows: * p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, c4b, c4f repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, c4b, c4f repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker.
    • p3, k8 repeat from * to marker
    • k3, p8 repeat from * to marker.

Now work 7 rows stockinette.
Finally, work 10 rows garter stitch ( purl one row, knit the next row)
Now bind off loosely, weave in ends, block and wear.

I am working on a downloadable version, but technology hates me :-(

Thanks to my loving tech support the PDF is now available :-D and all is rainbows and sunshine.

P.s. I would love to see how this turns out for you:-D .
