I’ve been diligently working on a set of owl warm winter woolies. The beanie hat is finished and now so is the matching scarf!

The pattern uses worsted weight yarn and size 5 mm (size 8 US) single pointed knitting needles and a cable needle. It also uses an optional size 4 mm (more explanation in the pattern). If you don’t know how to do cable stitches, I’ve added scannable QR codes and links to videos to help you along. There are also photos to help with sewing the seam and making the fringe.

This knitting pattern is knit flat making it very easy to make. I indicate where to change the colours of yarn in the pattern so there isn’t any confusion. But please note, you can knit the scarf in one solid colour also. There’s no reason why you can’t.

Like all my patterns, there is an ad supported, free-to-read version on my website. You can read it here:

How to Knit a Scarf – with OWLS! – FREE Knitting Pattern

This scarf also has matching owl motif fingerless gloves and a beanie hat, though those patterns are NOT included with this pattern. If you would like to knit a pair of the matching gloves or toque, you can find the fingerless glove pattern here:

and the beanie hat pattern here:

The gloves aren’t a perfect match. Next on my list is to make a pair with matching cuffs on the wrist and fingers.
