The inspiration for the Owls in the Hollow Cowl is slipped stitch patterns. They are used often to add a decorative touch in knitting. In this design a diamond-shape is created with slipped stitches that are twisted in 1 over 1 ‘mini-cables’ every other row. In between the diamond-shaped ‘hollows’ are textural rows of double garter stitch. For a touch of cabled charm there are beady-eyed owls nestled within the ‘hollows’.
