The pattern is suitable for beginner - intermediate crocheters - the hardest parts are the tentacles but only because they can be a bit fiddly. Knowledge of working in rounds is required.

Gauge is not overly important in this pattern, as long as stitches aren’t too loose so as to show the fiberfill. Try a hook size down if you find your stitches are too loose.
