This wonderfully soft sweater is quick and easy to knit. The delicate mesh pattern consists of narrow stripes and slipped stitches (no stranded colorwork). The inspiration came from the beautiful wooden shingle roof of an old church we once saw on a frosty autumn morning.

DIRECTION FOR KNITTING
Paanu is worked from the bottom up. The body is knitted in the round to the underarms, then the sleeves are worked the same way. Body and sleeves are joined for the yoke, which is worked in the round following the chart. The beginning of round is at the left side of the body; on the yoke it is at the left side of the back at the joining point. Short rows shape the neckline.
