Pacific Beach Blues is the name of the colorway I used for the test pair of these socks. It is an exclusive color from Baah Yarns, made for a lovely yarn store, Needlecraft Cottage, in Pacific Beach, San Diego. I wanted to design a sock that showcased the vibrant colors that reflect the beautiful hues of the Pacific Ocean in that area.

The chevron design mixes lace and cables to give an interesting texture. The gusset increases are on the base of the sole, allowing the chevrons to extend around the ankle in a unique way.

Sizes available are S/M (7”-8” foot circumference) or M/L (8”-9” foot circumference). The length is customizable.

You will need approximately 300-440 yards of fingering weight yarn, depending on the foot size and desired length of the leg. The recommended needle size is US #1.5 (2.5mm), or size required to achieve correct gauge. You can use any method you wish for working in the round (DPN, two circulars or magic loop). The pattern lends itself best to dividing the stitches into two groups.

These socks are made from the toe up.
