About the pattern
The Palestro hood is knitted in rib (2 knit, 1 purl). First, a square is knitted to form the top of the hood. Stitches are then picked up along the edges, and the hood is worked back and forth until reaching the neckline. The neck is worked in twisted rib (2 twisted knit, 2 twisted purl) and bound off using the Ruke bind off method. Stitches are then picked up around the face opening and knitted in the same rib pattern, until the stitches for the scarf are placed on hold. The remaining stitches are bound off using the same technique.

For version 1, the two scarf sections are then knitted back and forth in rib before being bound off using the Ruke bind off method.

For version 2, the scarf is knitted back and forth, the buttonhole is worked when indicated, and the scarf is then continued to the desired length before being bound off using the same technique.

Lastly, all loose ends are woven in.
