A cute little panda, with a raised bamboo feature column!
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”, and creates a cute and practical cloth in no time!
This pattern includes optional instructions to experiment with intarsia techniques to introduce one extra colour for the column of bamboo. The bamboo becomes raised (almost like an i-cord) by passing the MC and BC yarns behind.
Yarn:
Worsted weight cotton yarn (4) in two or more contrasting colours, approximately 73m/80 yards total. Cotton yarn is recommended for dishcloths; but any fibre (or weight) would work for the pattern.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.
Needles: 4.5mm (US size 7) straight knitting needles
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 9” square.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
