Papilio is a light beanie or slouchy hat that brightens up the gloomy winter days with its cheerful swarm of butterflies. An optional seam- and oversized button adorns the side.

Sizes:

  • Sl: small size - light beanie version - head circ.: 45-50cm / 17.7-19.7”
  • Ss: small size - slouchy version - head circ.: 45-50cm / 17.7-19.7”
  • Ml: medium size - light beanie version - head circ.: 50-55cm / 19.7-21.7”
  • Ms: medium size - slouchy version - head circ.: 50-55cm / 19.7-21.7”
  • Ll: large size - light beanie version - head circ.: 55-60cm / 21.7-23.6”
  • Ls: large size -slouchy version - head circ.: 55-60cm / 21.7-23.6”

Gauge:
• 21 sts x 29 rows (on larger needles in stockinette stitch)=10cm x 10cm / 4” x 4”; measured flat, unstretched, after blocking.
• One blocked Papilio unit (i.e.: one chart) measures 9cm x 5.5cm / 3.3”x 2.4”; measured fl at, unstretched, after light blocking.
For an accurate result it is important to check your gauge in Papilio pattern!

Note: In the final version the rhythm of brim ribbing is corresponding to the butterfly pattern. Test projects show different ribbing. Please see the pink hat photos for detail!
