Stay pretty in lacy knit with the “Pastel Flippy dress”! If you are looking for an outfit for work or leisure, this knitted dress is for you. The comfy design features a close-fitting top, fluffy short sleeves, round neckline edge, with a slightly flared skirt. The sleeves, the neckline and the bottom of the dress are finished with a narrow stockinette rolled edge.
This seamless dress is knitted top down using a Rico Design Superba Bamboo superwash fine and soft wool blend: a pastel colour mix of red, green, white and blue shades. The knitting pattern is easy to follow, you begin with the simple turtleneck neckline.
The big advantage of working top down is that you can adjust the length of the dress to suit your needs.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• 5 x 100g balls (2100m or 2297yds) using Rico Design Superba Bamboo Superwash 013 colour yarn.
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x length 50cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x length 110 cm (US 4).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 8 Stitch Markers.
• 2 Stitch holders.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10cm, take a smaller needle size.
ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS:
One size: M- (the knitted fabric is stretchy).
Dress length (from top of the shoulders)- 119cm (46.85ins). Dress flat width (just below armhole)- 40cm (15.7ins). Sleeve length (from top of shoulders)- 26cm (10.2ins). Sleeve flat width (just below armhole)- 14cm (5.5ins).
GAUGE (Tension): 20sts and 33rows = 10 cm (4ins), measured over Stockinette st, (garment being blocked), using 3.5mm (US 4) needle or size required to give correct tension. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
