I created this hat for a friend of mine going through cancer treatments. She requested a close fitting, soft hat that would come all the way to the nape of her neck that she could wear while her hair was growing back. I started the hat without a gauge or design swatch because I wanted to hurry, so I just went for it! When I was getting close to the decreases, I thought it looked pretty small, so I tried it on my 5-year-old to see where we were with it. Yep. Too small. So I sized it up and it fit my friend perfectly! The result is this pattern in two sizes. One fits a youth, the other fits an adult.
Both hats were made from the same skein. Less than 50g Fingering Weight Yarn will make one hat of either size.
