This is a mindful knitting pattern to knit a pair of peaceful socks. We all need more peace in our lives and in the world, particularly at the moment. I hope that the rhythm of knitting of these socks will help reduce anxiety, and the recipient will be soothed by the wearing of them.

The pattern was written to fit an average uk size 5 adult female. The foot length could be adjusted by adding or subtracting sections of the diamond pattern. Going up or down a needle size would also make a smaller or larger sock. The toe up construction with centre sole gusset and integral heel flap, makes for quite a good stretchy fit.

You could knit both socks identically, or reverse the colours for the second sock, as I did in the first sample pair.

Use a good quality commercial 4ply sock yarn, or splurge out on some fab indi-dyed yarn. First pair were knitted in West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply solids: Juniper and Turmeric, one ball of each colour.
