This was inspired by a 2020 pandemic hike with my kids in Red River Gorge Kentucky. I wanted to design something for all the peaks and valleys of this year and also my favorite way of hiking this year’s stress away. I had some gorgeous tweed yarn from Rhapsody in Hue that seemed perfect for a nice unisex scarf representing the daytime colors of my mountain hike and I wanted to dye some other colors myself, including the nighttime mountain silhouette shown as well.

This is a knitting pattern for a completely reversible scarf, but there is an optional detail that is done with a crochet chain. If you don’t know how to crochet, you can use the video referenced in this pattern to help you figure it out.

One skein each of two colors of DK yarn are required. The crochet detail can be done with either color or in a contrasting color if you wish (only 10g is needed).

All yarns shown in the samples will be available (while supplies last) in-store at Native Twist.
