Pebble Skipping Hat - From The Lazy Knits Collection

The Lazy Knits Collection features 4 patterns (hat, mittens, cowl and pair of socks) that are perfect solutions for what to make with those special skeins of fingering weight yarn in your stash! Enjoy relaxing slip and textured stitches that allow speckles and variegated yarns to shine, and look elegant in solids and tonals too. Each project uses just 100g of yarn or less, so can be a great way to use up partial skeins and scraps, and come in multiple size options to perfectly fit you or your handknit gift recipient!

Please note that unless you select the “eBook” option, you will only receive the Pebble Skipping Hat pattern PDF with this purchase.

SIZE
Child: 46cm (18”) circumference, fits head circumference 46–52cm (18–20 ½“); 17.5cm (7”) long (with extended brim folded)
Adult Small: 49cm (19 ¼”) circumference, fits head circumference 49–55cm (19 ¼–21 ¾“); 19.5cm (7 ¾”) long (with extended brim folded)

YARN
Lattes & Llamas Adventure Yarn (80% Superwash BFL, 20% Nylon; 366m {400yd}/100g), 1 skein 80s Hair Band colourway, or 100g fingering weight sock yarn

Sample used approximately 60g (220m {240yd}) for Adult Large hat with extended brim, and approximately 14g (51m {56yds}) for the pom pom. Please note that the yardage requirements will differ depending on brim option, hat circumference and any differences in gauge.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
2.75mm (US 2) and 3mm (US 2.5/3), at least 100cm (40”) length circular needle, or equivalent size in double-pointed needles or short circular needle to obtain gauge, and a needle size smaller
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Tape measure
Small 6.5cm (2 ½“) diameter pom pom maker (optional)

Please note that pom poms may present a choking hazard for children aged 3 years and under. If you make the hat with pom poms, you may need to include a choking hazard warning label to that effect on the finished product.

GAUGE
26 stitches x 56 rounds = 10cm (4”) in slip stitch pattern on 3mm (US 3) needles, knit in the round and relaxed after blocking.
