I love making gifts for babies, but I hate how quickly they grow out of clothes. So when I had my own bundle of joy on the way, I knew I wanted something that she could use for years. A toddler crib sized milestone blanket was born. This milestone blanket is great for pictures, and it’s large enough that she’ll make great use of it for years to come.

Designer’s notes:
This is a bottom up blanket. Stranded knitting technique is used for the hearts and intarsia for the numbers and letters. The border is made by creating four strips and sewing them onto the blanket. Two I-cord squares are knitted to be used as frames. Directions for knitting a milestone only mat and a Peek-a-boo Hearts blanket with no milestone portion are also included in this pattern.
The milestone mat is a great option for a quick gift. It can be used with any blanket or alone in any baby photoshoot!
