Peel Forest is a small community close to Geraldine in New Zealand’s South Island, where I live. It’s a forested area with native Totara, Kahikatea and Matai trees and the town has a lovely homely community feel.

This pretty scarf has a simple leafy lace edge that is reminiscent of the mountains and the trees in the area, and garter stitch for easy knitting in front of the telly or the fire on a cool night.

Peel Forest is my first pattern. It has been designed to make the very most of your 100g skein. Included in the pattern are instructions for weighing your skein between sections and row repeats to ensure that you have the smallest of nuggets left after you’ve bound off.

This pattern is written for 8ply/DK yarn. For the 4ply/fingering version of this pattern, please see the Hanging Rock Roost store. You can also purchase both versions of the pattern in my eBook, which you’ll also find in the store.
