This adorable Pencil Gnome Keychain is a quick and easy crochet project that makes the perfect gift for teachers, students, or gnome lovers! Designed as part of my school-themed gnome collection, it works up in just 30–40 minutes and uses only about 25g of yarn.
The finished keychain measures approx. 9 cm (3.5”) tall when made with sport weight cotton yarn and a 2.75 mm hook. The pattern includes a fun variation to create a pencil-only keychain using the same base.
Materials:
Sport weight cotton yarn (e.g., Hobbii Cotton Friends or Rainbow Cotton 8/6)
2.75 mm crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle, scissors, keyring or clasp (optional)
Skills Needed:
Basic amigurumi techniques (working in the round, increasing/decreasing)
Yarn under method (explained in the pattern) for tight, sturdy stitches
This is a great stash-buster, perfect for gift sets, craft markets, or just to add a little handmade charm to your keys or bag.
