This is a scarf using modular Penrose tilings that is knit in one piece. It is a bit complex, so it’s probably a good idea to practice by first knitting the simpler Penrose decagon pot holders or cushions, for which I have written out a very detailed description.

This is based on my a modular-knit-in-one-piece Penrose tiling system that can be used for flat pieces. You can construct more charts for other shapes yourself based on the tiling rules. Obvious ideas would be a triangular shawl and an afghan. There is an example rotation-symmetric Penrose P3 tiling on the Wikipedia page that could be used as a basis. There are also many tiling generators you can find online.
