This pattern started with the instructions from Barbara G Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns for Peri’s Parasol. Since the original lace pattern has an uneven top as well as the scalloped bottom I added some smaller designs to smooth the top.

Gauge is not really important. A little larger-than-called-for needle will give a more open fabric but may lose some stitch definition.

Instructions were written for a circular scarf. Doing fewer repeats will give you a shorter, less curved, scarf.

The smaller (gray) scarf used about 400 yards/365 m of heavy lace/light fingering yarn. The larger (pink) one used about 700 yards/640 m of light-weight lace.

Though you will be moving them around frequently, I recommend 25 stitch markers.
