Lyn Walsh, the brain behind fibre2go, is a wonderful woman. If you’ve never met her, then I encourage you to catch her at a fibre event for a natter or one of her amazing hugs. Lyn is a strikingly creative and talented woman, and I relished the chance to work with her after admiring her work for so long.

This shawl is the perfect in-between sized shawl. Big enough to wrap around like a true shawl, snuggly like one of Lyn’s hugs, and light like a shawlette - you won’t want to miss adding this one to your wardrobe. This is achieved by placing the increases in different places in the shawl at different times. These increases add to the pattern as well as creating the unique shape of this one - it sits beautifully on your shoulders or drapes generously around your neck.

When I was designing this pattern it was winter, and I was looking forward to spring, when all of the plants get their new growth, and colour starts to pop up everywhere. The garter rows that alternate, along with the small stocking stitch stripes that break up the garter look like fields of blooms, the stocking stitch and knots like wildflowers, and the edging is reminiscent of young spring shoots, or wisteria draping from a trellis.
