Beanies are great, they keep you warm and knit up oh so quickly. The latter makes them great as presents, but human heads come in such different sizes. My own head is small for an adult, my spouse’s head is really rather large (we often comment about their poor mother), and the variety in head size can make knitting a beanie a bit of a gamble. This semi slouchy beanie is so stretchy that it can fit almost all adult heads, taking the guesswork out of the equation. It is names pinwheel after the pattern created on the crown by the decrease, which looks rather like the classic children’s toy.
