Petalina Crochet Motif
This rounded edge diamond/pointed oval motif is worked int the round using basic stitches in creative ways that differ from round to round to create a design that appears intricate yet is relatively easy to make. Round joins are made in a special way that is practically invisible. This beautiful design can be used as a modular motif to create a variety of crochet projects.
The motif is made from the center outward in 7 rounds.
Motifs are joined with the join-as-you-go technique (3 options provided)
This motif works well for blankets, bags, accessories, garments, etc. The pattern is for the motif only, but layouts for suggested projects are included, as well as joining instructions.
I provide yardage and hook size recommendations for the yarn listed in the pattern, but this pattern will work well for any light to medium weight yarn that has good stitch definition, so feel free to substitute with your preferred yarn or yarn from stash.
The pattern PDF includes step by step written instructions with photos for each round, pattern chart, and all the information you will need. There is a video tutorial for this pattern available on my YouTube channel HERE and is also linked in the PDF file.
The pattern makes a motif that is roughly 6.5” x 4.5” (if using the recommended yarn or a similar yarn)
Full instructions for half motifs are also included, both horizontal and vertically divided, in order to be able to create items with straight edges.
