This highly textured hat and cowl are amazingly easy and quick to knit. The little stockinette depressions remind me of overlapping rose petals, hence the name. The overall pattern makes me think of beautifully knitted counterpanes (bedspreads), known for the three dimensional patterns knitted in.

Each piece requires about 200 yards of worsted weight yarn. The Wool Ease worsted weight skeins are just under that at 197 yards, which is plenty. I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing this hat and cowl as much as I do.
