Picking Up the Gauntlet is my response for the Get Your Tits Out Collective, a project inspired by Countess Ablaze to raise awareness and funds for charities through our yarn art. Recently a Charity colourway has been copied… The Countess’ response is classy as always and the yarn community as a whole ( over 200 independent dyers, designers and notions crafters to date), is coming together to recreate this iconic colourway and release a series of patterns to show how many different ways a single colourway can be used with sticks and string.

A 20% donation to Mind, a mental health charity in the UK, will be made for every copy of this pattern sold.

I’ve recreated an early pattern with the addition of a bonus Cuff design and both come in three sizes so we can all ‘Pick Up The Gauntlet’ from tiny tweens to seniors of all sizes.

My gauntlets are created to be both functional, for my long daily dog walks, and beautiful too.

The 5 Strand plait represents the balance of the different aspects of modern day life, work, health, spiritual, social and learning.

I used the “Sisters are Doing It” Colourway from Giddy Aunt Yarns.
