Pine Needle Tea
’Keep it simple!’ is something we often hear and then we go ahead and take absolutely no notice! But occasionally when I’m designing a more complex pattern, one simple element jumps out at me and I think, “that would look amazing on its own!”
And that is exactly how this gorgeous aran weight infinity cowl and my best selling Pine Needle pattern (previously Scarf Number 2) came into being!
This pattern has it all: it’s got great textures, it’s relaxing and quick to knit. It’s simple so can be knitted by anyone and looks great on anyone. But most importantly, it’s cosy! And being a cowl you can wear it on those cold and windy winter walks and not have to worry about having to constantly readjust your scarf to stay warm. It just stays put!
It’s an ideal pattern for last minute gifting or for when you want a carefree, but satisfying project just for yourself.
Happy Knitting!
What do you need to know to knit this pattern?
Dimensions: L: 165cm, W: 27cm
Yarn requirements: 320m to 350m of aran weight yarn
Skill level: Beginner and beyond!
Needle size: 5.5mm
Sample yarn: A vintage Jaeger yarn. I’ve recommended Drops Nepal or West Yorkshire Spinners Colour Lab Aran as it has similar characteristics to the yarn used in the sample, but it’s not a precise match. But any aran weight yarn will look amazing with this design.
