One of the little critters that was present most of the winter is the Pine Siskin. A cute tiny bird, similar to a finch, that can handle extreme cold….like minus 50+ extreme !….since they pack on a ton of fat for the winter.

The result…chonky little birds visiting the feeders….endless inspiration for me….and a new sock design!

Designed with sock sets in mind…or favourite leftovers….there is a little bit of stranded colourwork at the toe and then rhythmic, intuitive eyelets and twisted stitches for the rest of the sock. No cables here, and after working the pattern repeat once…I no longer needed the chart! Fancy looking but still TV knitting.

The sock is worked toe-up, in the round. I prefer magic loop, but you may use whichever in the round method you prefer.

Directions are written, with the colour work and texture being presented in chart format. Pattern is available in 3 sizes.

I absolutely love seeing your socks! Please tag me on instagram so I can share
