I was walking through Winners one day and noticed a plaque with this popular quote by Katherine Gaskin. It hit me in that soft place of my heart reserved for my lovely little girls. Both of them are tall for their age. Sadie always measuring in the 95th percentile at her baby checks, and Claire’s 2 year old height predicting she will grow to about 6 feet. With a Daddy who is 6’5”, I’m not the least bit surprised. But I look at the world around us and I don’t want my girls to grow up insecure about their height (or any other attribute for that matter). I wish for them to feel beautiful, inside and out, all the time. That they will stand tall in their character, treat themselves royally as worthy of respect and love, and be sweetly kind and compassionate to others. Perhaps not “perfect,” but their very best selves.
These socks are inspired by those musings. The Pineapple Perfect Socks, designed in 3 different sizes, are knit top down with a heel flap and gusset. They feature a fun stich pattern of simple cables and basic lace that creates little pineapples down the front of the sock, while the back displays a single pineapple column and diagonal rays. Contrasting cuffs, heels, and toes add an extra sweet touch.
I’m hoping that these socks will be an encouragement to all the knitters who knit them and anyone who wears them—be YOUR very best self.

(based on foot width) Small (7 inches/17.8 cm), Medium (8 inches/20.3 cm), Large (9 inches/22.9 cm)

Materials:
- 2.25 mm/US 1 needles, or size needed to obtain gauge (in preferred type for knitting in the round) - pointy tips would be an asset when working the pineapple motif
