An easy beret pattern worked in the round that creates a pinwheel effect. The pattern should work up pretty quickly for those experienced with increasing and decreasing in the round.

  • Pattern is worked in the round with a simple increase of 6 stitches and a decrease of 6 stitches using 2tog.

  • The band is ribbed in the round to give added texture when wearing and makes it easy to slip on and off the head.

  • I’ve designed the pattern to be slightly oversized so that it can be worn in a variety ways and won’t make the scalp sweat in warmer months as it allows air to flow.

  • You can use YarnSub to find alternatives to the yarn, I do find this particular yarn holds the shape well so look for similar plied and gauge DK/Light 3 yarn that takes a 4mm hook. Cotton may become to ‘floppy’ or soft.

I enjoy making this pattern so much so I’ve made several colours for myself! I’m wearing it in my profile pic.
