This traditional nightcap (or stocking cap) is knit in the round. The pattern could be converted to knitted flat, but instructions for working it that way are not included. A printed pattern for pajamas for the Little Kidz doll is also included, along with instructions for sewing.
The hat is made for a Götz Little Kidz Doll, but the ribbing stretches enough to fit a Happy Kidz doll or other of similar size.
Scraps may be used, with a total of 30g. If knit all in one color, less will be needed, possibly 28g. Prototype was made with 9g each of grey and pink, and 12g of white.
Size 2.5mm or US1.5 needles, dpns, two circular needles or one long circular for Magic Loop. Gauge is about 8 sts/in and 11 rows per inch, although this isn’t crucial for fit.
The pajamas may be made with a fat quarter with a non-directional print. For a directional print, 1/3 yard is needed, although smaller pieces of fabric may be used if the pants and top are made from two different coordinating fabrics. Buttons, 1/4” elastic (at least 7”), matching thread and/or hook-and-loop tape needed.

It is important to print pattern at 100% and verify the 1” square has been printed to be 1”.

Sewing Pajama Top:
(Photos would not fit in pattern, so they are included here.)
Take one bodice back (the one from lining fabric, if you are using a different fabric) and pin shoulders to the shoulders of the front lining, right sides together. Sew both shoulders using a 1/4” seam. Press toward the back.
Take the other bodice back and pin the shoulders to the shoulders of the bodice front, right sides together. Sew both shoulders using a 1/4” seam. Press both seams toward the front.
Baste along top edges of both front pieces and the back piece, making two rows of stitching. Pull to gather to fit the yoke fronts and back.
Pin front yokes to gathered fronts and sew. Finish seam edges with zigzag or serger, or sew edges together close to edge with a straight stitch.
Take lining and pin to both fronts and the back yoke, matching edges and nestling the yoke seams so they fit together and face in opposite directions. Sew up one front, around the neck and back down the other front. Clip seams and the two corners. Press seam and turn right-side out. Press well on the right side.
Finish inside edge of front lining from armscye to bottom with zigzag or serger, or turn under 1/4” and sew.

Pin gathered edge of back piece to both sections of back yoke (outside yoke and yoke lining). Sew together with 1/4” seam. Finish seam with zigzag or serger, or sew edges together with straight stitch.

Run two sets of basting stitches long tops of both sleeves. Gather one sleeve to match armscye and pin the top of the sleeve to the front and back, including both the yoke front and lining and the yoke back and lining. It’s easier to sew on the side with the yoke.
Sew in place. Repeat with the other sleeve. Finish seam with zigzag or serger or sew seam together with straight stitch.

10) Turn bottom edge of sleeve up 1/4” and press. then turn up another 1/4” and press again. Sew hem down from right side about 1/8” from edge.

11) Pin sides and sleeve underarm seams together. Sew from cuff up underarm and down side. Finish with zigzag or serger.

12) Finish lower edge with zigzag, then turn up 1/2”, press and sew hem in place. OR turn up 1/4”, press and then turn up another 1/4” and press. Sew hem in place.

Sew hook-and-loop tape in place on front and then sew buttons on top on right side, or make buttonholes and sew on buttons.
