Pixel Shawl
Using just one color at a time and a basic slip stitch repeat – in a linen stitch – watch as the colors of the gradient minikins sweep in and out in waves of contrasting colors that sometimes match and blend, and at other times stand out from each other creating an engrossing pixelated pattern. The colors create their own special rhythm! The shawl is bordered with a lacy edge to counterbalance the fabric like feel of the linen stitch. Worked on slightly larger needles gives the final shawl a lovely drape and softness.
Depending on how you style this when you wear it you essentially get three color options. Wrap it to the left and you get a blue focus, to the right and the main color is green. Drape both points to the front and get a lovely swoop of gradient with all the colors!
Finished size approximately 70” long and 19″ deep
Suggested Needle Size US8 – 5mm. You will also want a tapestry needle for finishing.
Required Skills: Knit, slip stitch, increasing, decreasing
Easy enough for adventurous new knitters, engaging enough for all knitting levels!
