This design uses a single cake of gradient yarn with a gradual colour shift, and the pattern is suitable for any similar yarn e.g. Cotton Kings Twirls Deluxe, Scheepjes Whirl etc. You may also use a plain colour, or striped/variegated yarn. You can also choose to create your own colour combinations.

It is suitable for confident beginners or intermediate level, since I use stitches that work into the 3rd loop, that can be a little tricky. I’ve included photo instructions that I hope are easy enough to understand. There are also many YouTube videos thate explain how to work into the 3rd loop.

I crochet very loosely, and used a 3,5mm (E hook). If you crochet tightly, go up a hook size. You can achieve a different size by choosing a smaller or larger hook, or thicker yarn. The pictures show the cape on a 6-year old girl.

Although this pattern has been tested, we are only human and mistakes can slip in. Please message me if you have questions or if you find any mistakes. I would be happy to fix them.
