UPDATE! Pattern now includes a “lite” version with fingering weight yarn! You get two patterns when you purchase this listing. :)

The Playdate Tee is a top-down raglan designed with DK weight yarn, making it a light and airy staple for any summer wardrobe. You will start by knitting the collar ribbing, then shape the neckline with short rows while beginning the raglan increases. After the neckline is complete, you will continue increasing the yoke before separating the sleeves to knit the body. The short sleeves are knitted last. The entire top is knitted in stockinette with 1:1 ribbing on the collar, hem and cuffs, and eyelet increases.

YARN:
DK weight (3) yarn. I used Snuggly Replay DK from Sirdar Yarn (50% cotton, 50% acrylic) in the color Bunny Hop Blue.

Yards/Meters: approx. (240, 250, 305, 340) (370, 435, 525, 590) yards / (220, 230, 280, 310) (340, 400, 480, 540) meters including gauge swatch for the short sleeve version. These yarn calculations are based on average size charts. If you make your top longer than suggested, you will need more yarn.

Lite version: Fingering weight (1) yarn. I used Stellina Sock (75/20/5% Superwash Merino/Nylon/Gold Stellina) from Sewrella Yarn.
Yards/Meters: approx. (240, 275, 315, 350) (405, 460, 560, 625) yards / (220, 250, 290, 320) (370, 420, 510, 570) meters including gauge swatch for the short sleeve version.

NEEDLES:
US 6 (4.0mm) needles in 16-24” (40-61cm) circulars for the yoke and body, US 4 (3.5mm) needles for the hem and cuffs, and US 6 (4.0mm) and US 4 (3.5mm) DPNs or Magic Loop for sleeves.

Lite version: US 4 (3.5mm) needles in 16-24” (40-61cm) circulars for the yoke and body, US 2.5 (3.0mm) needles for the hem and cuffs, and US 4 (3.5mm) and US 2.5 (3.0mm) DPNs or Magic Loop for sleeves.

SIZES:
Child’s chest circumference: (16, 17, 19, 21) (23, 25, 26.5, 28)“ / (40.5, 43, 45.5, 53) (58.5, 63.5, 67, 71) cm
The pattern is designed with approx. 3-4” (7.5-10cm) of positive ease built in. Measure around the largest part of your child’s chest and choose the closest size. Finished garment sizes provided in the pattern.

This pattern has been tech edited and each size has been tested by experienced and beginner knitters to insure this pattern is easy to make!
