I was inspired to write the playground
days pattern by the lacy frilly cuffed
socks I used to wear to primary school.
The easy lace repeat and the simple frilly
cuff remind me of my care free school
days playing hopscotch and making daisy
chains at play time.
The pattern is written cuff down with a
simple easy to memorise lace repeat, an
eye of partridge heel with gusset and a
rounded toe.
I think they look great with skirts and
trousers with the ruffle folded down
adding a fun touch to spring/summer
outfits. But as the cast on edge is large
they equally work well with the cuff
pulled up to wear with leggings tucked
in and walking boots to keep your calf’s
cosy whilst out adventuring!
The sock set designed by Liv @thewoolshed make these socks come to life, the subtle neon
speckles complement the simple lace repeats so well and the bright pink mini adds a pop
of fun bringing the old school socks into adulthood!
