Pleated Waves
An ethereal “quiet luxury” shawl or scarf featuring a newly invented wave motif from knit/lab. The waves show up as shadows and highlights in a pleated structure, ebbing and flowing with movement and changes in light. The fabric is reversible and bouncy with a feathery embossed texture. Easily customizable to create a scarf, a shawl or a simple draped garment, the pattern can also be worked in a heavier yarn for more substantial projects.
Knit on 4mm/US6 needles with 1320yds/1200m
of Bart & Francis 70% superkid mohair, 30% silk yarn.
Gauge: approximately 18sts and 32 rows = 4ins/10cm unblocked and pulled flat.
The last image shows a project with twelve and a bit repeats, measuring approximately 22ins/56cm x 62ins/156cm.
The knitting stitches are straightforward, however you need to pay attention at the start to get the pattern established!
The pdf includes a chart and full written pattern with notes and instructions, and images including ideas for draping and gathering the fabric.
