I originally made this vest for myself as a way to showcase this beautiful yarn. I alternated skeins for the main color to avoid pooling or a drastic chage in color, because this yarn is kettle dyed and has color variation a part of its charm. As a pattern for chunky yarn, this project knits up quite quickly, which is a very satisfying feeling.

When I posted the project on Ravelry, I was asked to write the pattern up. To broaden the usefullness of the pattern, I came up with the larger sizes. If there are any errors, please contact me, and I will make the necessary corrections.

For correct sizing, be sure to do a gauge swatch. Note that row gauge will be important for proper placement of argyle pattern with respect to neckline. If your row gauge is incorrect, you may need to adjust the number of rows completed before beginning front neck shaping.

This is a free pattern, but if you feel led to pay it forward, consider making a donation to the medical mission work that I have been involved in through the University of Connecticut by going to the UConn Global Brigades website.

A special thank you to Barabara Stone of Santa Cruz, CA (Ravelry username geekgirl) for her help editing this pattern.
