This unique blanket, the Peggy’s Pocket Afghan, was designed for people sitting up—as in a recliner. This blanket is so versatile in that you can pull it up to your chest and have your hands free, sticking out through the pocket holes. Or you can have your arms laying on top of the blanket and hands tucked inside the pockets. Or you can forgo the pockets from the pattern all together and simply have a stunning throw blanket for anywhere in your house.

This pattern uses the herringbone double crochet stitch. Detailed written instructions for the stitch are included in the pattern. There is also a link to a video created by Make and Do Crew with a tutorial for the herringbone double crochet stitch.

Several photos are included as well to help with placing the pockets (if desired).
