A cozy scarf, designed to look like it is woven, uses 3 variegated yarns each in a different colorway. The stitch pattern used mimics the knitted Linen Stitch. The striped effect is achieved when one of the variegated yarns has fewer changes in color than the other 2 yarns.

For the scarf in the pattern color A is Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino (KPPPM) 100% Merino Wool P8627, color B is KPPPM 100% Merino Wool P142 181 and color C is KPPPM 100% Merino Wool P305L340. The scarf takes one skein of each.

The scarf can be made with any fingering weight variegated yarn. If you have 3 different variegated yarns and none of them has fewer color changes than the other two, the resulting scarf will not have the striped effect. However, it will have an allover woven appearance and you will be amazed at how wildly different colorways can blend together.
