Poppy's Cable Sweater
I had designed a beautiful cable sweater for one of my daughters in a gorgeous merino possum fingering weight yarn and had 3 skeins left over. Then came a request for a matching sweater for her furkid – and so the Poppy Cable Sweater was born, albeit at a DK weight with the fingering yarn held double.
This sweater is worked top down starting with a 2x2 rib collar which I folded double for a turtleneck effect. Increases are then worked for the raglan, leading to a separation for the body and sleeves which are then worked separately as you would for a human sweater. Finally, the underbelly is finished and the remaining back panel is worked in rows to the desired length.
This sweater can work in a single strand of DK, Fingering held double - or for that special dog in your life, a Sport weight held with Lace.
